1. How do we target your Facebook ads?
We target your ads based on your preferences and suggestions. On the other hand, we set up the targeting based on the top-selling books within your genres, recognized authors associated with your book and target genres your book is in.
2. Why do you always set the 35-65+ age range?
We usually do this since the above mentioned range has proven to be the most effective when it comes to stats and the overall performance of your ad campaigns. Younger audiences don’t seem to visit books-related ads that much.
3. Why do you set the US only within the demographics (location) setting for the ads?
The majority of our fan base is located in the United States. Also, our experience has proven that the US audience dominates our author’s campaigns, resulting in more visits and clicks. We do, however, target other markets, if that’s what you prefer.
4. Why do you start with only $5 a day as our daily ads spend?
We take care of your budget, so the overspend doesn’t happen. Since we test several versions of your ads, it’s always better to start your daily spend as low as possible, so you can see which ads are working and which ones are not. Later on, if the ad is producing good results and resulting in sales, we increase your daily spend, so your ads get pushed in front of your future readers much more.
5. How do we monitor the ad’s success?
We monitor your budget and your ads daily, making changes alongside the way if necessary. Then we compare our statistics to your sales and see whether or not the campaign is successful or not. The key is to have the lowest cost-per-click possible in combination with good sales on your end. Based on those, we decide whether or not the ad is successful.
6. Why are there 4 preview slots and only two ads when you send the approval link?
The platform we work through (AdEspresso) always offers 4 slots within the ad preview. However, we usually test only 2 ads when starting the campaign, to see which one does better. The point is that the platform is automatized, meaning, if it doesn’t show the 2 other ads, it means we’ll be only testing the other two.
7. Can we have a preview of the ads once they start?
Yes! You can ask for a preview of your ads to see how they actually look on Facebook, with all the likes, shares and comments your ad gathered within its advertising period.
8. Do we need to come up with the ad design ourselves?
We always ask you whether or not you have any additional materials you’d like included within your ads. If you don’t, no problem at all! We design the ads ourselves and we send you the preview link, so you have enough time to think it over and see whether or not you like it.
9. Why do you include/not include certain authors and interests within the targeting?
The peculiar thing about Facebook is that you cannot include everything that comes to your mind. Their algorithms allow only the terms they recognize as popular or the ones they have within their targeting database. This means that if a term we’re trying to include doesn’t get recognized (offered within the search bar), we cannot use it within the ad targeting.
10. Do you perform A/B testing with our ads?
Yes! We always create A/B tests, to see what works and what doesn’t. Based on the results, we tweak your campaign or we create another one, with imagery and targeting that worked the best in the previous campaign.
